Documents
There are a number of documents that help guide our work and support our compliance with legislation. Below are links to a number of the key ones.
Strategic Plan
“We believe that every voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) organisation/group can be valued, understood, well run with opportunities to grow and evolve”
Our vision is of an independent, diverse, innovative and resilient voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in South Gloucestershire able to meet the needs of its clients; and one which plays an integral role in the planning and development of local policies and services.
We work in partnership to support, develop and represent voluntary, community and social enterprise action in South Gloucestershire in a variety of ways.
Our values. In summary, we stand for social justice, we will build trust, be responsive to needs of the sector, be open to comment on improving our service, work within the principles of equality and diversity and practise good governance
Our main Funding
Our main funding comes from South Gloucestershire Council for some of our strategic work and to support volunteering. We raise the rest of the funds needed to run our organisation and meet our aims via other non-statutory funding streams and our paid for services.
Trustee Annual Report and financial accounts
These are presented each year at our AGM. You can view our Financial Report to March 2022 below.
CVS South Gloucestershire AGM
This is our annual legal obligation to our members and an opportunity for them to hear about the progress of the organisation and its achievements in the previous year. It is also where new Trustees can be voted onto our Board by our members. Our most recent AGM was held on October 25th 2023.

CVS South Gloucestershire’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy
1. Statement of values
- CVS South Gloucestershire exists to support, develop and represent local voluntary, community and social action across South Gloucestershire.
- CVS South Gloucestershire celebrates our society as diverse in race, culture, faith and other beliefs, sexuality, abilities, gender and age.
- CVS South Gloucestershire is committed to challenging disadvantage and inequality, and aims to promote diversity and equality of opportunity in all areas of its work and structures.
- CVS South Gloucestershire believes:
- In working towards a just and participatory society
- That all people have equal rights to work towards social justice and to participate in decision-making processes and local action
- That priority should be given to working with communities and groups whose full participation in society is limited by economic disadvantage or discrimination
- That our role is to affirm and enable all people to play an active part in their community, both individually and collectively.
2. Statement of intent
In line with these values CVS South Gloucestershire will:
- Promote equal opportunities and diversity
- Support our members to take action on equal opportunities and diversity in their local communities and across South Gloucestershire
- Support our members to take action on equal opportunities and diversity in their own organisations
- Develop our own practice on equal opportunities and diversity, with a particular focus on employment, governance and the provision of services.
We will meet the requirements of relevant legislation and where possible will demonstrate good practice above and beyond these.
3. Implementation
Representing the Sector
We will seek to incorporate the views and needs of marginalised groups into our local policy work, and support partner organisations working with these groups to have a stronger voice at a South Gloucestershire level.
Supporting our members to take action within their local communities
We will support our members to recognise the advantages of good practice on equal opportunities and diversity. We will support them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to incorporate these issues into their work, and to work with a wide range of marginalised groups. We will use the Reaching Out Linking In project Equalities Impact Assessment Toolkit and DVD and the Equalities Toolkit produced in 2014 to support this work.
Supporting our members to take action in their own organisation
We will support our members to recognise the advantages of good practice on equal opportunities and diversity. We will support them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to take action on these issues in their own organisation
